Abstract
Musculoskeletal simulations are holding the capability to quantify man-machine interactions of systems which are not build yet. Thus, they have the capability to be an important CAE-tool in product development. The most common approach of musculoskeletal simulations is the inverse dynamic analysis. Unfortunately this approach has view disadvantages, which are the main reason why musculoskeletal simulations are not in broad application yet. The main disadvantage is that measurements have to take place for every simulation. To overcome the measurements for inverse dynamics, movement and external forces have to be predicted. We present two approaches for motion prediction and describe which of them is more suitable to match the needs of product development.
