The Design Society has taken steps to benefit the publication of papers for our members and is pleased to announce that all DS publications after 1st July 2018 will be Gold Open Access under the Creative Commons licence, type CC-BY-NC (Creative Commons Non-Commercial Licence).
CC-BY-NC (Creative Commons Non-Commercial Licence): Allows others to copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format. However, the material may not be used for commercial purposes. It can be an appropriate licence for monographs because it protects print copy sales while still providing scope for users to create derivative works of the online version to the benefit of all academia. |
All ICED, E&PDE, DESIGN, and NordDesign proceedings have been confirmed as open access, along with Proceedings of the 18th International DSM Conference 2016.
Access to these papers is available on our website here.
Under the new licence, Members will still be allowed to upload the Post print version of the paper onto their institutional repositories. Papers may be copied, re-distributed and re-uploaded to websites, such as institutional repositories and other non-commercial repositories. However, these papers may not be uploaded to commercial websites such as ResearchGate, Academia.edu etc. For these, we suggest you provide a link to the paper on the DS website. The DS will continue to provide confirmation of use of papers through written communication, but this is not necessary under this licence. If you have any questions please get in touch with admin@designsociety.org.
Members will still be allowed to upload the Post print version of the paper onto their institutional repositories.
