The 27th event of the International DSM Conference will be held as an onsite conference from September 24-26, 2025 at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ, USA, just a 10-minute train ride from New York City. The combination of the DSM expert community and the large network of partners at Stevens Institute gives participants access to networking opportunities with top international researchers, companies, and global organizations.

Dependency and Structure Modeling (DSM) techniques support the management of complexity by focusing attention on the elements of a complex system and how they relate to each other. DSM-based methods have proven to be very valuable in understanding, designing, and optimizing complex system architectures such as those of products, organizations, and processes.

The International DSM Conference provides a platform for researchers, practitioners, and developers of dependency modeling methods and tools to exchange experiences, discuss trends, and showcase results. The program consists of:

  • Tutorials and workshops (DSM methods, industry sprint, software vendors, etc.)
  • Keynote speeches
  • Plenary sessions
  • Presentations of accepted research papers and posters/abstracts
  • Industry presentations

DSM 2025 includes three submission tracks for contribution:

Full Papers of 6-10 pages (published with doi) can be submitted for double-blinded review until May 1st, 2025.

If you are at an early stage of your research work or working on industry projects, you can submit your work as a published Extended Abstract of 3-4 pages to undergo a separate selection and publication process until August 1st, 2025.

If you are from industry, you can present your latest insights in the Industry Presentation track. Submit a short abstract by August 15th, 2025, which will be reviewed by the Industry Committee.

This year’s conference will focus on the topic of integration. DSM 2025 invites papers and presentations on DSM research and applications in (but not limited to) the following areas:

  • Agile Development Methods
  • Complex Design Network Theory
  • Complexity Management
  • Data Analytics and Machine Learning
  • Data-Driven Design
  • DSM Data Collection and Model Generation
