Asia Design and Innovation Conference
Call for Papers
December 5 and 6, 2024, Shanghai, China
The Asia Design and Innovation Conference (ADIC) will take place on December 5-6, 2024, in Shanghai, China, hosted by the College of Design and Innovation at Tongji University. This conference is organized by the Asia Chapter of the Design Society.
ADIC is an expanded continuation of the Asia Design Engineering Workshops (A-DEWS), which were held in 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017 as events of the Design Society's Asia Chapter. Established in 2014, the Asia Chapter aims to foster collaboration in design research, education, and practice across Asia while connecting with other active design research and education communities worldwide.
The theme for ADIC 2024 is "Design and Innovation for a Sustainable Economy." The conference will address fundamental issues in design and innovation research and education, as well as explore breakthrough topics, including design for a circular and digital economy. The program will feature keynote speeches, invited panel discussions, design practice cases, paper presentations, and networking opportunities. While ADIC is organized by the Asia Chapter, paper submissions and participation from outside Asia are also strongly encouraged. The venue for ADIC 2024 will be the College of Design and Innovation at Tongji University in Shanghai.
ADIC 2024 is inviting paper submissions in broad areas of design and innovation research and education, including but not limited to the following topics:

- Digital Design, Design for Additive Manufacturing
- AI in Design, Design Informatics, Data-Driven Design, Design for Digital Transformation
- Design Practice and Entrepreneurship
- Design for Smart Living, Design for Smart Mobility, Design for Smart Health
Paper Submission Schedule:
Paper Submission Due Date: 15 October 2024
Acceptance Notice: 5 November 2024
Final Paper Submission: 20 November 2024
Conference Dates: 5-6 December 2024
