Checking/Renewing Your DS Membership
2025-26 Membership Period (01 July 2025 - 30 June 2026)
Thank you to all members who have renewed their membership for 2025-26. As a reminder, memberships run annually from 01 July to 30 June of the following year. If you haven't renewed yet, please do so now. If you do not renew by 30 June 2025, your profile may be removed from the DS system, and you will no longer receive communications from the Design Society.
To renew or check your membership status, please visit Membership Status. Your membership keeps you connected to our many activities within the Design Society and supports the ongoing efforts to serve you and our community.
Below is a guide on how to check your membership status and renew it if it has expired.
How do you check and /or renew your membership status?
Step 1: Make sure you are logged into the DS website. Check the top-right of your screen on the DS website homepage. You will see one of the two icons below:

If you see a padlock, you are not logged in. Click the padlock to log in with your DS username (email) and password. After logging in, you will see a cog has replaced the padlock. This indicates that you are now logged in.
Step 2: Open this link in a new window to be taken to your "Members' Dashboard." (Note: here, you can ALSO maintain your DS profile, subscribe to SIGs and Regional Chapters, and upload content to the website).
Under the "Memberships and Subscriptions" header, there is an option for "Check/Renew Membership." Click it and proceed to Step 3 below.
Step 3: On the "Check/Renew Membership" page, you will see a message from the Board of Management revealing your membership status. Your membership is up-to-date if the expiry date is 2026/06/30 (YYYY/MM/DD) or a later year (eg. 2027). If your membership expiry date is from 2025 or earlier, then you will need to renew your membership. See below for details.
If your membership is up-to-date, no further action is required. If you need to renew your membership, please head to the bottom of the page, select your membership type (circled in purple above), and select "Save and Renew", then go to Step 4 below for payment.
Membership Types Explained:
- Associate membership is available to students (Doctoral, Master, Undergraduate), can be claimed for up to four years, and expires four years after the point of activation.
- Full membership is available to all others.
Receipts from all completed payments are also available at the bottom of this page.
Step 4: Payment (for renewals only)
When you go to payment, you will see the screen below. The easiest way to make a membership payment is via card (MasterCard, Visa or Maestro).
(If you require an invoice or wish to pay via Bank Transfer/PayPal, please go to Step 5)
To pay by card, select your card of choice (MasterCard, Visa or Maestro) and enter your card details. Depending on the account and bank used, you may need to approve the payment with your bank. Once the payment is approved, your receipt will appear in your DS Dashboard at the bottom of the "Check/Renew Membership" page (see Step 3 image above, under receipts).
Step 5: Payment (if an Invoice is required)
If you require an invoice for your payment, there are two options. PayPal is the easiest method, but Bank Transfers are also possible. Please see below for details.
Option 1—PayPal: Contact the Design Society at admin@designsociety.org, and we will send you an invoice via PayPal. Once you make the payment, we will be notified and update your membership status.
Option 2—Bank Transfer: Contact the Design Society at admin@designsociety.org, and we will provide the required details. Once you receive the details and make the payment, you must send us your receipt so we can manually log it into the system. This is crucial, as without it, we cannot update your membership status.
